Mama Moonbat likes the cuffs

Posted by JimK on 01/31/06 at 11:33 PM

The attention whore publicity-seeking mother...person was at it again.

Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a fallen soldier in Iraq who reinvigorated the anti-war movement, was arrested and removed from the House gallery Tuesday night just before President Bush’s State of the Union address, a police spokeswoman said.

Sheehan, who had been invited to attend the speech by Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., was charged with demonstrating in the Capitol building, a misdemeanor, said Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider. Sheehan was taken in handcuffs to police headquarters a few blocks away and her case was processed as Bush spoke.

Schneider said Sheehan had worn a T-shirt with an anti-war slogan to the speech and covered it up until she took her seat. Police warned her that such displays were not allowed, but she did not respond, the spokeswoman said.

So...being sneaky and lying, violating the rules and being duplicitous is OK, as long as you’re in it for attention.  Mikey must be so proud of her.  Meanwhile someone with honor and integrity would have walked in wearing the shirt and took their chances.  No, wait...someone with honor and integrity would have sat politiely and listened to the speech in the first frigging place.  An honest activist would have worn the shirt in the open instead of being a lying sneak.

Police handcuffed Sheehan and removed her from the gallery before Bush arrived.

Oh that’s frigging classic.  She accomplished exactly nothing.  Beautiful.

“I’m proud that Cindy’s my guest tonight,” Woolsey said in an interview before the speech. “She has made a difference in the debate to bring our troops home from Iraq.”

Wow, talk about blinders...Sheehan has accomplished, as she did with this protest, nothing but getting her name in the paper and getting Code Pink, MoveOn, Moore and that ilk to fund her life.  They’re treating her like a star, paying her bills, making her feel like her dumb ass matters.  That’s what this has always been about...someone paying attention to her.  The troops aren’t coming home until they are finished.  They never were.  Most of them don’t want to.  Maybe if she actually talked to them…

Hey, when is Code Pink and that set gonna send Mama Moonbat to Iraq?  Let’s see her put other people’s money where her mouth is.  Go ask a few thousand troops if they want to bail out on Iraq, see what kind of answers she gets.

Casey who?  If she had half the relationship she pretends to have had with her son, she’d get what total strangers already understand...these guys and gals do what they do out of a sense of honor and duty.

Wizbang’s Kevin Aylward asks:

What’s next for Mama Moonbat, streaking through a presidential press conference?

O.K., that’s enough.  Now I have to bleach my brain.  Thanks, Kevin...thanks a lot.

Well, she’s finally done it.  She’s whored herself to the point that the MEdia is referring to Casey as just another “fallen soldier in Iraq.” By thrusting her mug and lunatic rantings into the nearest willing camera and microphone, she’s turned an heroic, selfless man named Casey Sheehan into a faceless, nameless casualty of the Iraq war.

How proud she and her supporters must be right now.  For some reason I have an image in my mind of Casey’s mom and Code Pink celebrating her latest “victory” over green tea and vegan bagels.  I am ill…

Of course Moore already has the arrest mentioned front and center on his site, referring it as crushing desent.

Cindy Sheehan will be on Good Morning America tomorrow morning.  This ought to be good:-P Also, on Moore’s site it says that tomorrow a civil suit will be filed against the federal government for free speech violations.

Cindy Sheehan: Helping the left destroy themselves one publicity stunt at a time.

What do you mean Cindy didn’t achieve anything?  She’s WELL on her way to becoming an answer in a game of Trivial Persuit!

Ok Sheehan just made an even bigger fool of herself tonight. As if her idiotic and unAmerican rantings were not enough.

Just saw a PBS special on terroritsts.  WHat amazes me is that these people who are imamams and the lefty moonbats sound the same.  No really, if you didn’t see who was talking and removed the accent you wouldn’t have known who was talking - moonbat or terrorist instigator.  Maybe because there isn’t any difference.

Posted by wolfschant  on  02/01/2006  at  03:06 AM (Link to this comment | )

How can she be such a tool and not care about it?

She, as a personality and a mind is nothing. She has been puppeteered by the left to help further their anti-war movement. So she didn’t personally reinvigorate the movement - the faceless people behind the scenes who pay her meal ticket did.

She was merely fuel. Frickin’ gasoline for a dying fire. And fuel gets used up in the end.

She’ll capatialize on it like a good American in the end - ya know the type of American she and the others on the left pretend to hate? She’ll try for TV movies and has already made a fortune off her book. She’ll be a tool, get her quick cash and split - telling herself it was all for her son.

If this is the best fuel for the anti-war movement they have left, then I don’t see a problem. She’s not even articulate, or sharp enough to really change the way people think.

I had really hoped you all would stop linking anything about this creature.
Every story sites like this one post just provides her greater pleasure.
She is nothing, treat her that way.

Drauger, think of it this way:
Remember that kid back in school who was always making an ass of himself?  You know, the one who would tell you he had a girlfriend who lived in another state and would claim to be a ninja or a black belt and no matter how many times he got his ass beaten he just didnt learn to keep his stupid fucking mouth shut?
Well, Cindy Sheehan is that kid only we ALL have to deal with the stupidity every time she goes in front of a camera or pulls some shit like this!

I just checked Moore’s site and he made a big deal about how Cindy was kicked out but a bomb-sniffing dog got to stay and wondered why?
Well, let’s consider the differences, shall we?
The Dog:

Had better manners

Cindy Sheehag just posted an article on Moore’s site on what happened.

Utterly freaking ludicris… her response got to the 11th paragraph before her son was mentioned. However, she used “I” about 100 times previous to that.

Is this proof that she is an attention seeking media-whore???

I hate to say this, but her saying “I” in a post which was about her arrest does not make her an attention whore.  Yes, she is an attention whore, but not for the reason you stated.

I was reading “What Really Happened” on Michael Moore’s website. Apparently she was having second thoughts on going but then she found out that the press and media had been told she would be there and Cindy knew she couldn’t let us down by not showing up. Here’s what she said happened:

“I had just sat down and I was warm from climbing 3 flights of stairs back up from the bathroom so I unzipped my jacket. I turned to the right to take my left arm out, when the same officer saw my shirt and yelled, “Protester.” He then ran over to me, hauled me out of my seat and roughly (with my hands behind my back) shoved me up the stairs. I said something like, “I’m going, do you have to be so rough?” By the way, his name is Mike Weight. “

I don’t believe any of that for a second. Then she talks about how she met an officer at the station:

“After I had my personal items inventoried and my fingers printed, a nice Sgt. came in and looked at my shirt and said, “2,245, huh? I just got back from there.”

I told him that my son died there. That’s when the enormity of my loss hit me. I have lost my son. I have lost my First Amendment rights. I have lost the country that I love. Where did America go? I started crying in pain.”

Yes, Cindy, I can assure you, we all had tears to wipe when we heard the news. However, those were tears of laughter. You knew this was going to happen, you knew that you were going to start shit because it’s what you wanted. Because if it didn’t happen, then all that would appear in the newspapers today would be, “Cindy Sheehan was present at the President’s State of the Union,” instead of “Cindy Sheehan arrested at State of the Union,” which is what you want because then you get your own article to yourself and then you get back in the spotlight. Congratulations, Cindy.

Just an afterthought, you think multiple arrests will do good for your Senate campaign?

Nightwing43:

I’m going to play devil’s advocate: could she possibly be a tool of the right created to artificially embarrass the left?

A good question, given her antics. However, I doubt it. If anything, this woman is incredibly sincere.

Still, I have to admit… If I had the money, I’d bankroll her campaign for Congress. It’s just too funny to see the Leftist crackup with the Moore crowd turning on the Democrats over the Alito Confirmation. I would be in something akin to ecstacy watching the Moore crowd and the Democratic elite trashing eachother in the Sheehan race. And with them each trying to out-Left eachother, it just gaurentees more Moore renouncement.

Man. What a day to be a Conservative--whether plain vanilla, Buchanan Brigadeer, or a Neo-Con.

[NOTE: Of course, to point to the previous post, I WANT the Left to talk--because every time they do, they expose themselves for who they really are.]

As for her escapades, remember that the Left in general and the Mooreons in particular are stuck in the 1960’s. In their twisted version of an idealized past, the Moore crowd thinks that this is how you get things done (even though it was peaceful protest and sacrifice, not such shameful shinnanigans, that brought about change).

In other words, these folks are in the throngs of Loony Left Syndrome (ask your British friends who lived during the 70’s/80’s). And as much as I’d love to chalk this up as just another part of the “vast right-wing conspiracy” (that is, a majority of the American electorate =]), this is all Sheehan.

Since when is it a violation of free speech rights to enforce the rules of a particular group/event? I could yell “fire” in a crowded movie theatre just to see what would happen, but y’know, I might get arrested for breaking the law and causing a disruption.

You aren’t allowed to have banners, signs, or wear protest clothing in the House. Others who have tried the same thing have been similarly escorted out—including a guy during Clinton’s impeachment who wore a T-shirt insulting him.

Posted by iggy21  on  02/01/2006  at  12:23 PM (Link to this comment | )

I cant stand it when liberals confuse free speech for rules and regulations.  Sheehan said:

“I was never told that I couldn’t wear that shirt into the Congress. I was never asked to take it off or zip my jacket back up. If I had been asked to do any of those things...I would have, and written about the suppression of my freedom of speech later. ”

What she fails to let on to, is she knew she could not protest.  She knew that the regulations require no party to wear anything of a political nature.  So anyopne surprised that she was arrested?  She wasnt, yet shes trying to let on that she was and you should be too.  Her ignorace is best summed up for the last line of the quote.  To her, any actions against her (whether they be verbal opinions or actions abiding by laws and regulations), are considered a violation of free speech.

Iggy, spot on.  If liberals understood free speech they would not carp so much about it.

Cohen v. California February 22, 1971

Appellant was convicted of violating that part of Cal. Penal Code § 415 which prohibits “maliciously and willfully disturb[ing] the peace or quiet of any neighborhood or person . . . by . . . offensive conduct,” for wearing a jacket bearing the words “Fuck the Draft” in a corridor of the Los Angeles Courthouse. The Court of Appeal held that “offensive conduct” means “behavior which has a tendency to provoke others to acts of violence or to in turn disturb the peace,” and affirmed the conviction. Held: Absent a more particularized and compelling reason for its actions, the State may not, consistently with the First and Fourteenth Amendments, make the simple public display of this single four-letter expletive a criminal offense. Pp. 22-26.

Posted by tk421  on  02/01/2006  at  02:13 PM (Link to this comment | )

Basically, we have what we call “Time, Place, and Manner” restrictions on free speech.  As stated before, that’s what keeps people yelling “Fire!” in a crowd from claiming free speech.  It’s what makes it not free speech if you use a bullhorn in a residential neighborhood at 2:00AM.  It’s what gets your stupid ass thrown out of the House.

This allows our society to remain orderly, while also allowing for dissent.  you can dissent all you want, you just can’t disrupt the orderly society to do it.

Signs and chanting outsite the House, fine, protest shirt inside the House, not fine.

NOTE: Of course, to point to the previous post, I WANT the Left to talk--because every time they do, they expose themselves for who they really are.

Actually they do talk and demonstrate what they really are.  The problem is that the print and television media rarely write or show most of what they say.  For example, it is easy for us on the internet to go and find videos and sound clips of the plethora of ravings from Sheehan.  But most people get their news from papers and TV.  They have no clue about what this moonbat really stands for.  That is why I also hope she runs for office.  Then, regardless of what the press wants us to know, her entire history of ranting and raving will come out and the public will see what a nutcase she really is and how she has dishonored Casey.

Posted by genFX  on  02/01/2006  at  03:12 PM (Link to this comment | )

Why does Sheehan have to obey any rules, laws or common courtesy?  She and the left are clearly downtrodden, persecuted and abused.  She is just one baby step away from getting a .45 inthe back of her noggin and having her organs harvested.

Ouch, my cheek has been punctured by my toungue.

The problem with the left is they claim all these violations is that they are false.  They are not persecuted.  They are not subjected to anything resembling a facist state.  They merelt act out because there is no way they can legitimately get attention, much less legitimately get power… mainyl because they are bat shit insane lemmings with agendas and biases that far exceed those the protest against.

Posted by genFX  on  02/01/2006  at  03:14 PM (Link to this comment | )

Miguel.  The problem is there is a decided bias in the media for the left.  That does not offer them carte blanche protection as they will turn on the left when say a lead figure does something beyond the pale (e.g.  Clinton’s sex scandals).  But until the straw breaks people like Sheehan will get favorable coverage, or at least muted coverage of their activities.

Posted by Don Miguel  on  02/01/2006  at  04:49 PM (Link to this comment | )

genFX, exactly!  My thesis is that if Sheehan runs it will be impossible for the media not to report her lunacy because any opponent she has certainly will.  And since that would probably be in a Democratic primary, they will go with the least extreme.

And regardless of what she is if she runs (Democratic, Green, whatever), she will eventually end up in one or more debates.  In that case she will be ripped apart by every opponent with a never ending set of questions that all begin with “On such-and-such date you said ‘insert one of dozens of far-left ravings here‘.” She will then either lie and make a fool of herself or try to explain what she meant and make a fool of herself—all in public in front of people who are all not moonbats.

And, to top it all off, she’s not very smart (to put it nicely).

Posted by iggy21  on  02/01/2006  at  05:06 PM (Link to this comment | )

Let’s put aside her intent.  What a class act!  She showed up to the State of the Union Address wearing a t-shirt.  That shows she has no respect for our great nation, the president or the members of congress.

Beyond that, i’ve heard, but only from a couple sources, that a wife of a congressman was also removed beforehand. she was wearing a “support the troops” shirt and was told that wasn’t allowed

Hmmm, last night, all the networks reported her arrest. She’s been in more than a couple of magazines.  You really believe most people don’t have a clue what Sheehan really stands for?

Yes, I do.  When have you heard the networks report her calling Bush a fascist and a terrorist, saying Bush murdered her son, saying Casey died for Israel, introducing convicted terrorist sympathizer Lynne Stewart at a conference, sharing a stage In England with the chief spokesman for the leader of the group that killed her son ... need I list more examples?

I’m still waiting for the media to call her what she is: anti-American, not just anti-war.

I’m interested, dhalia, as to where you are quoting that from.  It obviously isn’t from the link you posted so where are you getting that quote from?

Now I don’t want to beat a dead horse but I have now checked for the third time and the quotation you provide is not in the link you provide.

See I know this sounds like a stickler for the rules and all but when you quote something and then provide where you got the quote from, your quote should be in that source.

Oh and I will be interested to see if the next State of the Union address will have dress attire required to attend.  Thank you, captain lunatic.  Wanna bet the left will say it is the white house’s attempt to discourage the lower classes from attending if there is a Republican in office?

We Have Lost So Much PDF | Print | E-mail
Written by Cindy Sheehan
Wednesday, 01 February 2006
As most of you have probably heard, I was arrested before the State of the Union Address tonight.

I am speechless with fury at what happened and with grief over what we have lost in our country.

There have been lies from the police and distortions by the press. (Shocker) So this is what really happened:

This afternoon at the People’s State of the Union Address in DC where I was joined by Congresspersons Lynn Woolsey and John Conyers, Ann Wright, Malik Rahim and John Cavanagh, Lynn brought me a ticket to the State of the Union Address. At that time, I was wearing the shirt that said: 2245 Dead. How many more?

After the PSOTU press conference, I was having second thoughts about going to the SOTU at the Capitol. I didn’t feel comfortable going. I knew George Bush would say things that would hurt me and anger me and I knew that I couldn’t disrupt the address because Lynn had given me the ticket and I didn’t want to be disruptive out of respect for her. I, in fact, had given the ticket to John Bruhns who is in Iraq Veterans Against the War. However, Lynn’s office had already called the media and everyone knew I was going to be there so I sucked it up and went.

I got the ticket back from John, and I met one of Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s staffers in the Longworth Congressional Office building and we went to the Capitol via the undergroud tunnel. I went through security once, then had to use the rest room and went through security again.

My ticket was in the 5th gallery, front row, fourth seat in. The person who in a few minutes was to arrest me, helped me to my seat.

I had just sat down and I was warm from climbing 3 flights of stairs back up from the bathroom so I unzipped my jacket. I turned to the right to take my left arm out, when the same officer saw my shirt and yelled; “Protester.” He then ran over to me, hauled me out of my seat and roughly (with my hands behind my back) shoved me up the stairs. I said something like “I’m going, do you have to be so rough?” By the way, his name is Mike Weight.

The officer ran with me to the elevators yelling at everyone to move out of the way. When we got to the elevators, he cuffed me and took me outside to await a squad car. On the way out, someone behind me said, “That’s Cindy Sheehan.” At which point the officer who arrested me said: “Take these steps slowly.” I said, “You didn’t care about being careful when you were dragging me up the other steps.” He said, “That’s because you were protesting.” Wow, I get hauled out of the People’s House because I was, “Protesting.”

I was never told that I couldn’t wear that shirt into the Congress. I was never asked to take it off or zip my jacket back up. If I had been asked to do any of those things...I would have, and written about the suppression of my freedom of speech later. I was immediately, and roughly (I have the bruises and muscle spasms to prove it) hauled off and arrested for “unlawful conduct.”

After I had my personal items inventoried and my fingers printed, a nice Sgt. came in and looked at my shirt and said, “2245, huh? I just got back from there.”

I told him that my son died there. That’s when the enormity of my loss hit me. I have lost my son. I have lost my First Amendment rights. I have lost the country that I love. Where did America go? I started crying in pain.

What did Casey die for? What did the 2244 other brave young Americans die for? What are tens of thousands of them over there in harm’s way for still? For this? I can’t even wear a shrit that has the number of troops on it that George Bush and his arrogant and ignorant policies are responsible for killing.

I wore the shirt to make a statement. The press knew I was going to be there and I thought every once in awhile they would show me and I would have the shirt on. I did not wear it to be disruptive, or I would have unzipped my jacket during George’s speech. If I had any idea what happens to people who wear shirts that make the neocons uncomfortable that I would be arrested...maybe I would have, but I didn’t.

There have already been many wild stories out there.

I have some lawyers looking into filing a First Amendment lawsuit against the government for what happened tonight. I will file it. It is time to take our freedoms and our country back.

I don’t want to live in a country that prohibits any person, whether he/she has paid the ulitmate price for that country, from wearing, saying, writing, or telephoning any negative statements about the government. That’s why I am going to take my freedoms and liberties back. That’s why I am not going to let Bushco take anything else away from me...or you.

I am so appreciative of the couple of hundred of protesters who came to the jail while I was locked up to show their support....we have so much potential for good...there is so much good in so many people.

Four hours and 2 jails after I was arrested, I was let out. Again, I am so upset and sore it is hard to think straight.

Keep up the struggle...I promise you I will too.

Love and peace soon,
Cindy

Why is this women’s arrest the only part of the State of the Union speech that we’re talking about here ?

I know this is MOORE watch and that’s what comes closer ro Moore since he posted so much on his own site about it, but still, for a political debate site (and a good one too I think) It would be good to discus what has been said by the president, no ?

Like how the war in Iraq influences the actual Iran nuclar issue or even the Hamas election… Alright it isn’t exaclty MM related but he does make a great fuss about any of these issues everytime he can do so.

And anyway he kept pretty quiet these months so why the hell not ?

I love how she’s got the number of troops who died on her shirt and is spouting rhetoric as if she really cares about ‘em.  Odd for a woman who is on record as calling the insurgents in Iraq, “Freedom fighters” and who has said, “I detest every one of those meatheads who volunteer to kill other people” and who has stated that she is “starting to lose a little compassion” for mothers of fallen soldiers who continued to support the war.  By the way, in my quote, I’m paraphrasing: I forget if she said “kill” or “murder” and “people” or “humans"--that’s the kind of thing Cindy’s cheerleaders at Media Matters would call you a liar for.  No joke!

Oh, and Swissboy actually made a good point here:

Why is this women’s arrest the only part of the State of the Union speech that we’re talking about here ?

The reason is because these stunts of hers are paying off for her: people are talking about her!  That’s what she cares about!  Seriously, we’ve become her narcisstic supply.

Word of ciny again…

“For this? I can’t even wear a shirt that has the number of troops on it that George Bush and his arrogant and ignorant policies are responsible for killing.”

I think I speak for everyone here when I say to Mrs. Sheehan: Shut. Up.

If she had half the relationship she pretends to have had with her son, she’d get what total strangers already understand

What’s this about? I must have missed that article. Was her relationship with Casey not a good one?

dhalia, any form of protest in the gallery is prohibited.

Wasnt there someone with a “support the troops’ shirt that was also removed?  Or was that rumor.

My point is that this is not the first time (nor would it be the last im sure) that anyone (conservative or liberal) has been removed from the gallery.

I think this is a attack against democraty, when the people we elect will be interputed to speak.
I think she wanted to fuck up the state of the union.
I hate the social wessels who ruins life of people who even putted people on the street,i dont go to the “riksdag” and start to yell.

People has voted them to speak up.

I don’t think anyone outside of the Sheehan family (save perhaps close friends, neighbors and God) knows what their relationship was.  If you listen to her, though, you’d get the impression that they were some kind of inseperable mother and son, as if she was a really caring mother who misses Casey more than anything.  Many of us here, I believe, speculate that that wasn’t the case.

I haven,t read the previous 47 comments so sorry if this was posted already, it is from Front Page Magazine;

Sheehan also contends she suffered emotional trauma, complaining: “I am so upset and sore it is hard to think straight.”

I didn’t know she able to think straight…

Who knew?

Okay, I have to ask.  Why do you ahve that highly Anti-American, anti-troop SoaD video on your page?  I mean, I love their music (but HATE their politics), but it’s just weird seeing that on your site.

That was intended for a later post to show the differences between the two views of the war.  The anti-war video featured nothing but hippie protesters and not one actual view of the war or why we went to Iraq.
Whereas the Linkin Park video featured scenes from 9/11 and our brave soldiers fighting and suffering for our freedom.  I thought the Linkin Park video was intensely moving in the way it showed how human our soldiers are and is a testament to what they are willing to do to ensure our freedom!
